Gift Certificates and Other Donations 2010

Not every event calls for a one of a kind creation, but we like to say yes when we are asked to pitch in so here is a collection of events we have supported with donations of gift certificates or other jewellery.

The Prince George Realtor's Gala

On November 20th 2010 Hubbell Designer Goldsmiths donated a 11.3ct scissor cut citrine, a 0.23ct round brilliant cut diamond, and a $500 gift certificate for the creation of a piece of jewellery. The total value was $1640. The Realtor's Gala was held at the Festival of Trees which is a fundraiser for the Spirit of the North Health Care Foundation.

Rotary Auction

For the Prince George Rotary online auction this year we have donated a 0.30ct SI1 H round brilliant cut diamond valued at $1260 plus taxes and a $500 gift certificate towards the design and creation of a piece of custom jewellery for a total value of over $1910. The auction is held in November, and all the proceeds are used by the Rotary of clubs of Prince George to make this community and this world a better place.

MS Prince George Dinner and Dance

This year we donated a $500 gift certificate to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Prince George for their annual dinner and dance which was held on October 23rd, 2010.

Liberating Lindsay

In March of 2010 there was a fundraiser thrown for Lindsay Bzdel-Klassen so she could travel to India to have the liberation procedure (CCSVI) performed. The hope is that this procedure will help her fight multiple sclerosis she has been dealing with for several years. We were happy to donate a $200 gift certificate for the silent auction.

Mackenzie Chamber of Commerce

This year we donated a $500 gift certificate to the Mackenzie Chamber of Commerce's Annual Fundraising Auction which is held on November 27th 2010.

Hixon Community Association

We were happy to donate a $200 gift certificate to the Hixon Community Association for a fundraiser they held on August 14th and 15th of 2010. Hixon is a small community south of Prince George along Highway 97.

Run For The Cure Block Party

Organized by Blair Moffat of Northern Hardware, the Block Party is an event held in downtown Prince George to raise funds for the CIBC Run for the Cure Campaign. On July 9th of 2010 Hubbell Designer Goldsmiths donated a $250 gift certificate to help with the fundraising. The event is put on by The Downtown Business Improvement Association, Northern Hardware, and of course, CIBC.

RCMP Victim Services Unit Silent Auction Fundraiser

The RCMP Victim Services Unit Silent Auction Fundraiser was held in Prince George on June 17th of 2010. We donated a $200 gift certificate for this event. The PVSBC is a non-profit organization that provides leadership, support, advocacy and training to professionals working in the field of victim services.

Yellowhead Rotary Annual Fundraising Auction

Hubbell Designer Goldsmiths donated a $500 gift certificate to the Yellowhead Rotary Annual Fundraising Auction which was held May 29th, 2010 in Prince George.

An Evening with Bryant

This was a fundraiser for the Baldy Hues Addiction Treatment Centre and Therapeutic Community which is located on the outskirts of Prince George. The fundraiser was held on June 25th of 2010 at North 54, a restaurant in Down Town Prince George. $30,000 was raised for the community, and we were happy to donate a $500 gift certificate. Bryant Olender is a recent graduate from the Baldy Hues Centre and is now an accomplished pianist. He came back to Prince George just for the fundraiser.

The Family Day Event

The Family Day Event happened on April 16th and 17th of 2010 and was a fundraiser for airplane tickets to bring the family of Mamadou Tounkara to Prince George from Guinea, Africa. Mamadou Tounkara is the owner of the Africa Cafe in Prince George and has been working to bring his family here for many years. Hubbell Designer Goldsmiths was happy to donate a gift certificate for $250 to the fundraiser. Mr. Tounkara and the community of Prince George raised enough money to fly his wife and 3 children to the Vancouver Airport after nearly 12 years of being separated. Congratulations Tounkara family!

Coast Cancer Crusaders

In March of 2010 we donated a gift certificate for $250 to the Party for a Cure, put on by the Coast Cancer Crusaders.
