Evening of Pink - September 24th 2011
The Evening of Pink is an annual fundraiser and awareness raiser for Breast Cancer held in Prince George. Our donation to the event was a pearl strand and tourmaline pendant which was a door prize. We were happy to support this event for its 7th year and would like to congratulate those who have worked so hard to put on this event each year.
"Memories and Moonbeams"
The Evening of Pink is a fundraiser for the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation and raises awareness for Breast Cancer. We created this hand strung pearl necklace and pendant as a door prize for the evening this September, 2011 which is the 7th year of the event. The golden pink freshwater pearls are individually knotted and were strung by hand, and the 14kt yellow gold pendant is strung right on. There is a 13.5mm button pearl semi bezel set into the gold of the pendant. In the center of that pearl a 4mm x 6mm deep pink tourmaline is bezel set right into the pearl. There are all sorts of pink tones in this one of a kind piece that we have created just for this event, and we have titled it “Memories and Moonbeams”. This piece has an appraised value of $2436 after taxes.

"The Eternal Butterfly"
This pendant was hand formed from 14kt yellow gold. In each wing there is an infinity symbol and in the center in a full bezel you will find a checkerboard cut 4.94ct perfectly pink topaz. The pendant hangs on a 14kt yellow gold marine link chain and has an appraised value of $3290 after taxes.
The 2010 Evening of Pink was a smashing success! There was an impressive amount of money raised that will go to the Spirit of the North Health Care Foundation to buy hospital equipment. The defining moment of the night was when the guest speaker, Beth Torbet, who is better known by her stage name Bif Naked, gave an impassioned and very genuine speech that touched everyone in attendance. Bif made such an impression that Brent Marshall was moved to donate $20,000! We would like to say thank you very much to Monica Peacock who started and organizes the event, to Bif Naked for her exceptional speech, to all the volunteers, contributors and those who attended, and finally to Brent Marshall for his outstanding donation! Way to go Prince George.

"Dreams Have Wings"
A butterfly is a perfect symbol of transformation and beauty, and so we designed, hand formed, and carved this butterfly in 14kt yellow gold. The inside of the wing detailing is textured with frosting. We set five 2.5mm pink sapphires into the body of the butterfly and crafted the bale to sit behind the wings so all you see is butterfly. This pendant hangs from an 18inch 14kt yellow gold Figaro link chain.
Evening of Pink - October 2005
"Flying Again"
This pendant is a 14kt yellow gold hand-formed butterfly with carved pink tourmaline wings. To represent the struggle with breast cancer the wings were stressed to the breaking point and then repaired, so the butterfly can fly again! The curb link chain is 18 inches long and is 14kt yellow gold. The very first Evening of Pink was held on October 1st of 2005. This pendant was created to be a prize to help draw people to the first time event.
"On the Wind"
This pendant is the twin to "Flying Again". 2005 was the very first Evening of Pink, and when Darrell was asked to donate a prize he thought it would also be nice to make something for the event's first speaker, Pamela Martin. This pendant is formed from 14kt yellow gold and contains two hand carved watermelon tourmaline wings. A 14kt 18 inch cub link chain was included as well.
