Prince George Community Foundation Citizen of the Year Celebration - October 21st 2011
Every year the Prince George Community Foundation holds a Citizen of the Year Celebration which serves to raise funds for the foundation and focus a spotlight on outstanding citizens in our community. The nominees for the 2011 Prince George Citizen were Lorne Calder, Ken Pendergast, Matthew Church, Darrell Hubbell, and Marvene Layte. We were ecstatic when our very own Darrell Hubbell was named the Citizen of the Year for 2011.
"It All Works Together"
This ladies' pendant and earring set is one of a kind, designed and created just for the Citizen of the Year Event. This donation was one of many in a silent auction held at the event to raise money for the Prince George Community Foundation. This set contains three 9mm x 7mm oval amethysts each set in four claw, two stage baskets. The frame of the pendant is made from two pieces of yellow gold in a teardrop shape that are connected together at the top to form a hidden bale. The earring frames are identical and feature a post and heavy duty butterfly clip at the back. The entire set is made in 14kt yellow gold. We were happy to donate this set to the Prince George Community Foundation Citizen of the Year Celebration.
The Prince George Community Foundation has a unique approach to working in the community. All the money they raise stays in permanent endowment funds, and the interest on those funds are used via grants to support all manners of projects and initiates in our community. Any registered Prince George charity can apply for grants, and so this foundation has supported a variety of areas including health, education, arts and culture, sports and recreation, environment, and social services. We are more than happy to support this foundation which in turn supports our entire community.
